He is refreshingly honest, at least a little bit.   Tai Chi indeed does not seem to match MMA’s punching you in the face when you are down.

The goal of Taoism is immortality, MMA does not offer that of course.

But it is interesting how Tai Chi is sold / taught to people.   There is this idea of combat “applications” but frankly when you look at the “applications” they look quite ridiculous.  The next thing is the micro-management of alignment, teachers breaking each move into 50 micro-lessons and charging for them, so that you can be the perfect tai chi robot.

Well all it points to is the loss of contact with the Truth.   And then the tradition descends into materialism as practitioners struggle to pull in something new to re-invigorate the tradition, but they normally pull in society which buries the tradition.

You see the same thing in the Anglican church, they don’t feel the Truth, so desperately claw in anything new, homosexuality, bits of mindfulness or whatever is going around, and they simply become the vehicles for the burial of the church.

It is interesting to see it all in action, these cycles, people as unwilling and unknowing actors of the dark realm.

Truth doesn’t last long on this planet, it rusts easily.

Tai Chi possibly developed in the insincere age 700 years ago and is thus a lower tradition, aimed at a society already on the decline.   Qigong has much less form and much more feeling – meaning practitioners are required to be able to feel.   Tai Chi just requires you to be a robot following complicated instructions from people charging you money. and I question the whole approach.

Tai Chi is often described as “better” but I think it is for people who cannot feel and do not realise that feeling is living.

It is a confusing world, a maya, few escape in each cycle.

Evidently one needs both soft and hard training but for this kind of combat hard one is immediately more important.

In political and social sciences, communism (from Latin communis, “common, universal” is the philosophical, social, political, and economic ideology and movement whose ultimate goal is the establishment of the communist society, which is a socioeconomic order structured upon the common ownership of the means of production and the absence of social classes, money, and the state.    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communism

Neijia is a term in Chinese martial arts, grouping those styles that practice neijing, usually translated as internal martial arts, occupied with spiritual, mental or qi-related aspects, as opposed to an “external” approach focused on physiological aspects. The distinction dates to the 17th century, but its modern application is due to publications by Sun Lutang, dating to the period of 1915 to 1928. Neijing is developed by using neigong, or “internal exercises,” as opposed to “external exercises” (wàigōng 外功).  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neijia

…but it is interesting how Tai Chi is sold / taught to people.   There is this idea of combat “applications” but frankly when you look at the “applications” they look quite ridiculous.  The next thing is the micro-management of alignment, teachers breaking each move into 50 micro-lessons and charging for them, so that you can be the perfect tai chi robot…

This kind of opinions are nothing else than immaturity and ignorance but it’s clear that if one knows enough about different aspects of the training one starst to understand that, let’s say, 10 years is short time to master any of the internal (martial) arts.

    Sorry for my broken English.

Slavery and blind following is very deeply conditioned into humans.   They don’t ask questions.
Here is a question : when you practice these inner styles, those movements have almost nothing to do with the movements you will make in a real fight.   Often your teacher will simply give you 2 sets of movements, traditional internal, and fighting.   And there is almost zero connection.
    This is just dumb.
A better approach is to just do the fighting moves, but add in internal aspects.  This requires some ingenuity.
But … if you know nothing then you just slavishly follow the past, it is an excuse for not growing.

Politicians who bomb the M.E and then it all ends up being a disaster … what do they say?  They say, let’s bomb then again, and this time harder.   And if you question them, they say … let’s bomb them again and this time harder.   Don’t worry the solution is just round the corner.

It is the same with many teachers … “oh just another 10 years”.   And after 10 years when you still aren’t enlightened … “oh just another 10 years”.   Don’t worry heaven is just round the corner.

And you simply follow your teacher into a grave.   What you didn’t notice is that your teacher doesn’t know, he is just repeating the past and so are you.

You teacher doesn’t know so instead of saying “I don’t know” which would make him look stupid, he lies to you.   He tells you the same lies he tells himself.

This is why so few can actually talk about enlightenment or salvation.   They don’t tell you they haven’t reached.   What they tell you is another 10 years.

In truth very few teachers carry much inside them.

This is why so few can make it.   Yes one has to harness the past, and also the future.   Harness external teachings, but also yourself.   You need to have a very large BS meter, and a very low tolerance for being a slave.

The false self LOVES to hear “another 10 years”.   That is 10 more years when it lives inside your head like a parasite, instead of you living inside you.

“The distinction dates to the 17th century” … right around the accelerated decline of our planet.

This distinction between internal / external is just the mind getting involved through dividing you.

And I believe Tai Chi is also part of the same mentalization / materialization.   You are no longer required to feeeeel, you are required to be a robot.

Our ideas of reality are a house of cards.   When you start to see how little most humans know, how great masters are often great desperate people who didn’t make it.   How most of our ideas are simply contrary to reality.   Then there is a large inner collapse as your entire frame of understanding life crumbles, the whole thing.   It is a desperate time for many, after which you might be ready to leave.
