Trunk,
That is what happens anyway once the caudlron is stabilized. The initial training of inversion – the first level of refining – is to communicate clearly to the shen what you want, that you are reversing direction. That is just the post-natal mind getting the message. The shen are not physically limited to the body location of the organs;…[Read more] -

I appreciate your enthusaism.
The problem is that you cannot learn alchemy from a book. You need an oral transmission, as I have explained elsewhere. The mental body is hungry for words, but the food doesn’t get digested at the jing level.
I haven’t rushed a book out because it is a deep topic and requires time for things to mature. I ‘d…[Read more]

Kyle,
its ok to print elsewhere as long as integrity of copy is maintained.
But don’t rush – I have more to download on Bodri’s book, which reveals the real crux of Plato’s thoughts at ta much deeper level. Thus much more interesting…..stay tuned.

Max,
Ii appreciate your open enquiry into the validity of the kan & li formulas.
I have done the same myself, in more ways than you can imagine. And I invite you to drop in and question my methods in the future as you feel inspired or find the time. (Plato is also welcome, especially when he polishes the sharp edges of his…[Read more]

Singing Ocean,
I love the name you’ve chosen. The Ocean of chi is always singing to us,
if we listen. You raise a lot of excellent points in your post which I am fully in agreement with.Particularly true: the need to convince others to switch paths reveals an innate insecurity on the spiritual level. Like Shining Arrow has already…[Read more]

Spyrlex,
I happen to totally agree with your position. It is totally reductionist to claim everyone’s experience is the same. And I also agree with the Falun gong position as well- each religion leads to a particular experience or “heaven” in the midplanes that i would describe as a parking lot for that group consciousness. You have to wake…[Read more]

Sean,
I did not mean to demean Taobums in any way. I apologize if my comment appeared that way. I think the site looks great and is beautifully organized, certainly better than my discussion page. I appreciate the hard work you’ve put into it, and am delighted to have you as one of the hundred flowers blossoming on the Tao.
And I do intend to…[Read more] -

“Methinks he doth protest too loudly!”
-Will ShakespeareWith each posting your fundamental hatred of women becomes clearer.
Look no further for the cause of your difficulty in progressing in alchemy. The issues are not intellectual. Your character – and thus your virtue – is embeded in your jing.

Forgot to mention Livia Kohn’s anthology, The Taoist Experience.
I think it is betterfor a new reader than Cleary’s Energy, Vitality, Spirit.
Both quote from a wide range of texts and give the flavor of different taoists ways of thinking, but liv’a’s book is more lively and better illustrated. If your friend wants the best short introduction…[Read more]

Thanks for asking.
Keith Frantzen nudged me to do this several years ago, and I have now transcribed all of my weekend courses and many of the kan and li courses.
Several I had transcribed more than once,as I felt the material had improved. This doesn’t change my opinion about the overriding importance of verbal transmission and the impact…[Read more]
