Michael Winn replied to the topic north star in the forum General 20 years, 6 months ago
Pole Star was mapped by the Chinese over many different centuries, so they knew it changed, i.e. from Thuban to Polaris. It was more the portal of infuence over Later heaven: the Dipper rotated around it, guiding earthlings as to divine clockwork of the seasons, and telling the emperor when to move into the next symbolic chamber to rule from…[Read more]

The 2nd cen. ad date on patanjali is the earliest date posited by some scholars, and of course yogu enthusiasts tend to go for the earliest date possible as if antiquity validated something. The range of dating is all the way up to the 9th century AD.
What is perhaps more interesting is that the Aryans – who invaded India and brought in a full…[Read more]

Indirectly, yes.
You have to convert the flat plane bagua into its three dimensional shape, which is a cube. Cube has eight points, same as bagua. When you study the bagua as sacred geometry, you realize it is the “sphering of hte cube”, the next dimension up of the “squaring of the circle”. This is one of the primary challenges of sacred…[Read more]

I totally agree.
Movement such as qigong is considered the female path because it originates from the body and generates chi from that grounded place.
I believe it it is the gentlest way to reclaim the body.My earlier point about cultivating the temporary vessel for the energy body is that the local/personal self needs a transitional…[Read more]

Thanks for sharing. I am glad the space feels safe enough for you to share.
I’ve been in private communication with both Max and Plato, and I think mutual respect will be fllowing into the playing field of aspiring immortals and buddhas. To be clear, I am not and never have “attacked” silent meditation, if that was your inference.
But what…[Read more]

Faceless mage,
That’s a great name. And you ask a lot of questions, some of them good, and some of them irrelevant – like the sex lives of immortals and buddhas – the answers wouldn’t really matter until you get closer to their level.
But may I suggest that you post your questionss in small caps. ALL CAPS IS EQUIVALENT TO SCREAMING AT…[Read more]

Michael Winn replied to the topic understanding the magic of ancestral spirit: humanity, sexes and ancestors in the forum General 20 years, 6 months ago
I think you are raising some interesting and valid points. The collective hearta of living humanity is different than the reality of our ancestors living within the sphere of the earth (both hun and po aspects are believed by the Chinese to remain behind – the Hun may stay on to continue evolving.

I forgot to reply to Max’s comment about he didn’t think that Billl Bodri was opposed to the health benefits of qigong. His website puts out a different story. I’ve responded to the relevant sections, but the Bodri text is complete and unexpuragated in any way:
