It’s too long to go into a detailed overview of his soul journey.
A few observations: he begins with synesthesia, light/color/music merging, which is the five shen fusing their separate functions and/or crossing over.
Then various stages of his inner space open up, a golden pearl appears, the jing of his essential self, emerging from a dark…[Read more]

I have this mawandui version of the I Ching, and as the review by Rutt notes,
it is not really very exciting. Rutt is clearly a pedagogue – actually a Christian bishop who got involved with I Ching, but doesn’t allow it to have any spiritual depth compared to his Christianity. My recco is to get the recent brilliant integration of the older…[Read more]

Max,
I don’t think that you are building walls yourself, in your own practice.
But you do support some writings that build walls, in my opinion.I really appreciate your willingness to be a catalyst for discussion on this forum. Someone has to stir the cauldron, to see what has settled down out of consciousness….and so it floats to the…[Read more]

Hagar,
I think everyone is feeling accelerated karma, because the chi field is vibrating faster. But if you are doing alchemical practice, you will notice it and work with it, i.e. increase your response time to the Life Force, it starts becoming more present moment. In this way you speed up your completion rate, which means you are completing…[Read more] -

Thanks Farooq,
I hadn’t seen this account.Rajneesh/Osho was undoubtedly one of the greatest writers of our generation linking psychology and spirituality. He was an inspiration to me in the 70’s, as like him, I was largely self-taught in meditation. In this account, (from Taoist alchemical perspective) it sounds like his core channel…[Read more]

Lovely, Hagar.
so why aren’t you teaching?
I’ve made the point before, that Sitting and Forgetting is a beginning Taoist method, the updated/improved version of which is using the Inner Smile to dissolve progressively all layers of contracted chi.
There is no dicotomy between Sitting in Stillness and alchemy. They are part and parcel of…[Read more]

Max,
I am discrediting Nan because he has done great harm by putting out false information. Judge not, lest ye be judged.Nan’s disciples have shown a marked lack of discrimination in vetting what is true and not true. Its very easy for Chinese to pull the wool over the eyes of westerners.
I am sure Nan has powerful meditation experiences…[Read more]

Not discussed previously, to my knowledge. Thanks for asking.

But they also can confuse the beginning reader. There is too…[Read more]

Thanks for sharing your deep experiences, Max.
Its the purpose of this forum.
But to make it even more relevant to some issues recent re-raised on this forum, I think it would be useful to ask yourself the followoing questions:
1. Did my profound experience inspire me to judge my path/experience as the only Truth? Did it prove anything…[Read more]

Michael Winn replied to the topic request for clarification in the forum General 19 years, 11 months ago
The reason for waiting is that the process begun during the qigong practice continues afterwards, even though you stopped moving, the qi set in motion is doing a particular job.
Eating is a different job, and requires a lot of chi to manage digestion.
so the qigong chi flows towaards digestion, rather than its original job.So the advice I…[Read more]

I can save you some time, as I got hold of Nan-Bodri’s book and read it thoroughly, to see if I had missed something in fact. As Max pointed out, Bodri has been extensively discussed on this forum.

I think Mr. Winn 🙂 would agree with you – the line betweeen entities and patterns of chi is very thin. Sun, moon, planets etc. are all entities, as are ancestors, internal body spirits, hungry ghosts, etc. all dealt with in inner alchemy.
As to whether one can separate technical questions from ethical questions, in the beginning yes, in the…[Read more] -

You can read Eric Yudelove’s Tao and the Tree of Life to get one perspective… Eric was a senior instructor of the healing tao; he got into the tao because he had invovked armies of elementals and was having trouble controlling them.
About 20 years later, Eric got back into the magic – let’s call it black magic – and to make a long story…[Read more] -
Michael Winn replied to the topic Release of Adult Stem cells and qi gong in the forum General 19 years, 11 months ago
I personally believe that many of the longevity benefits of advanced qigong practice come from stimulating stem cells (as undifferentiated jing/essence) to rebirth the polarized yin/yang patterns of the physical body.
The western approach is to replace the body with new external nourishment; the taoists figured out way to stimulate it…[Read more]

Michael Winn replied to the topic Thanksgiving: What I give thanks for in the forum General 19 years, 11 months ago
Fair Questions.
I am grateful because the Native American held the values of centeredness (living in correct relation to the land – so the land supported them in return) and sharing their Earth with strangers. Even if they didn’t survive the slaughter by Europeans, their values/essence does. It survives in the ceremony of Thanksgiving itself,…[Read more]

Michael Winn replied to the topic Increasing chi to get faster results – Making your own mountain in the forum General 19 years, 11 months ago
Pietro,
Not sure how you concluded that from my post. From Tao perspective, everyone has a destiny, their xin (heart mind, which incudes the 5 body spirits) is the expression of it. But not everybody realizes their destiny, due to fragmentation and confusion, distraction and diffusion, here in the physical plane.
