Thanks for the clarification, Mike. The piece looked too well researched to be off the top of the head. But the author is really playing loose with the facts and his accusations who tolerates what.
The main difference between modern mass killings and the Inquisition, etc. is that the technology improved. Probably better (as historical…[Read more]

Dennis,
You open a pandora’s box in your comments defining Christianity, conveniently glossing over the evils committed in the name of Christianity – e.g. the millions of women killed and tortured for being herbalists (witches), numerous religious wars, etc. That’s why the Europeans are leery of that good-evil distinction – they have a…[Read more]

Ellen Siegel is the only person I know in Asheville who trained in it, but unfortunately I have lost contact with her (she doesn’t do email). check the phone directory.
You can try and get a session with dirk Oellibrandt from Belgium, who is visiting asheville end of this month at Michael malone’s Qigong Center. He has integrated it into 4-D…[Read more]

Freeform gives exactly the answer i would have given. Repetition builds power; you are training the life force to respond to you, and at the same time studying your body to learn how to be more responsive to the Life Force.

Simon, I will be looking for you to enroll the key players in your campaign of chivalry and mercy.
It is lovely way to upgrade the cults that believe in violence, but difficult to implement whiole the USA remains the largest arms dealer on the planet and run by NEO cons who enjoy expressing their aggression.I am more partial to the Dalai…[Read more]

I actually think Bates was channelling or remembering fragments from a life doing qigong. He just didn’t get the chi part of his eye exercises.
He has movement practices, swinging side to side as you face the sun, that activate the left and right core channels that feed our eyes.
Sun is the most important and fastest way to improve the eyes.…[Read more]

Gary’s technique involves inhaling down the front channel, then exhaling and focusing (and possibly contracting?) on the lower dantian. I know some people who’ve used it and liked it.
In general, Gary, a street fighter from chicago, tends to “over do” whatever he is doing, i.e. he is (or was) an excess yang type. Very good-intentioned,…[Read more]

Huang Yuanji’s commentary on the Daodejing looks very interesting, like he was a serious neidangong cultivator. There is a sample chapter translated, and two other chapters for sale on Li Jiong’s site.
I suggest you do NOT yet buy these initial three chapters yet (at $66), but wait for the full translation. I plan to work with Li Jiong to…[Read more]

Mage,
Your questions illustrate exactly why it is impossible to learn alchemy from a book, or worse, a booklet. You end up totally confused and in your head, trying to patch together a jumble of ideas into a workable practice that you won’t be able to hold on to because it is not arising from spontaneously levels of development. It is also the…[Read more]

I think that Trunk, following in the taoist tradition, is always pushing the envelop on observing the subtlety of body-mind interactions possible. It takes a while to distinguish between pulsing the perineum, the anus, or the sacrum separately. His replies below I think clarify the possibility.
Fact is, we used to have tails in our evolutionary…[Read more]

The alchemical tradition has historiclly been secretive – one would never describe one’s experience to others (except one’s teacher) because it might wrongly influence the unfolding of their own particular essence.
This is another way of sasying that the experience of the Holy is unique to each individual; we personalize the universal as…[Read more]

I think (obviously) that the wuji gong is authentic original 13 movement form (12 movements of earth, and one movement of heaven, even if it is done 200 times per form.
