Max,
I was just commenting on that particular article, not suggesting that every buddhist advocates such a position. But I found it a bit perverse preceding a detailed analysis of inner alchemy. And it certainly contradicts what Fajin is saying about his own experience (thank Buddha).I agree with you, some Buddhists are very grounded and…[Read more]

Thanks Nnoonth for refocusing my comments on what was intended.
It’s not that I disagree with you Fajin – our ultimate ming/destiny is to cultivate our xing, our inner essence, if successful it allows us as an immortal to function freely from within the primordial and shape it as needs be to participate in the broader multi-dimensional process…[Read more]

Interesting piece. I subscribe to the SSCR but didn’t see that piece – can you send the link?
I’ve been waiting for Pregardio to come out with his translation of the Triplex Unity, but he tells me it is slow and difficult (China’s oldest alchemical text). He is using or quoting “Dao” in contexts which differ markedly from some other…[Read more]

mage,
Dog’s advice is pretty good, but I think he may have itnerpreted your second question in light of martial arts in stead of the potential to heal someone else. Of course healers can project and shape the chi of someone else. It’s impossible, in my experience, to “think” yourself into an indestructible immortal body. You have to stop…[Read more]

Mage,
You have a lot of detail questions that are not appropriately answered here. I think you would domuch better in a live retreat, where you can have many questions answered real time within a cauldron /group space that is supportive for you. It is tough for you to get out of your head and its pestering questions, and may make it hard for…[Read more] -

Fajin,
can you clarify what you mean by “taking gold”. Is this gold powder/leaf, common to ayurveda? If that is the case, not to worry, the resonance is healthy. If you are taking sulfur in more than homeopathic doses, you might be cautious as to its fiery effects.
I have tested various alchemical elixirs over the years, and don’t trust…[Read more] -
Michael Winn replied to the topic spirit-soul question in the forum Philosophy 19 years, 2 months ago
If the yin-yang halves of the self marry, which plays out as both male-female and lesser-greater selves, the immortal self holds the ability to have individual intention even as it is merged back into the collective field after death, i.e. transition to some level of immortality implies ability to intend/shape/create.

I think it’s best not to think of this as “sides”, but as ongoing explorationof truth.
I read thru the article on chia site, a high level appropriation of taoist neidan by Chan Buddhists who needed to put it into their language and their worldview. I think its great that Chan buddhists want to practice neidan. In their languaging they have to…[Read more]

Ah, the shifting sands of language. Unfortunately, people don’t find you on the internet unless you use the language they speak/seek. I just consider qigong the portal for folks to find out about neidan.

There is no yuan aspect (other than the general ground of yuan chi) unless the yin and yang aspects of soul are “married” intentionally, producing an immortal consciousness that is not governed by yin-yang cycles.

Read the Book of Balance and Harmony, trans. J. Cleary, for closest resemblance to One Cloud Formulas, dates back to Song Dynasty 800 years ago. There are no texts in the mountain hermit tradition, eerything was transmittted orally.

Michael Winn replied to the topic pyramid material? in the forum General 19 years, 3 months ago
It is called “auriculum”, and mentioned in Plato, quoting Solon, quoting an Egyptian Priest.
It is a mixture of gold and silver and other rare metals, and use to conduct the life force.
The pyramidal tops of the needle like structures (Washington Monument in D.C. is a copy)
that were in the center of each Egyptian temple were also covered with…[Read more] -

Nice piece, Max, thanks.
I especially like the piece about humans evolving from group animal consciousness and suppressing that tribal mind while we learned to individuate, and are re-integrating the individual and group consciousness. This is in alignment with my thesis about humans learning to mediate between the One (group mind) and the Many…[Read more]

Michael Winn replied to the topic A compressed version of the teaching of the Dalai Lama in the forum Philosophy 19 years, 3 months ago
I agree with Dalai Lama views, studied with him many times. But the “negative” approach of Buddhist terminology , which he is continually trying to fix with clarifications, is fixed better in my opinion by simply using positive terminology, i.e. yuan chi instead of emptiness. Things get much clearer, fast.
