Michael Winn replied to the topic Ten Essential Principles of Tao Self-Cultivation in the forum Philosophy 18 years, 9 months ago
Dear Wendy,
I know that 9 is a major number for you, and certainly it is for Taoists as well. The bagua has eight forces and the center ninth. So NINE is the number of completion. But TEN is the number of REBIRTH, the next ONE plus the unknown factor of ZERO, neutral force. So TEN completes NINE by beginning the next cycle of Nine.
I see…[Read more]

>there are two humane training systems:
atlantean/egyptian/indian/western hermetics (air/water/fire/earth plus akasha)
lemurian/chinese (wood/earth/fire/water/metal plus yuan)This is not correct – yuan is NOT an element, the is the ground from which all the elements arise.
Earth is the center element, the fifth element that gradually…[Read more]

I actually follow the convention of the oldest alchemical text in China, the Yellow Court Canon.
The yellow or golden court is between the navel and the heart. It is the sun within the earth, ruled by the yellow planet Saturn/higher earth between the solar plexus and heart; hence the coupling of sun and moon a this center in the third formula,…[Read more] -
Michael Winn replied to the topic Labyrinth of practice in the forum Practice 18 years, 10 months ago
Now that you are living in England, might be fun to cross the channel and visit the famous labyrinth at Chartres outside Paris. That is what the cathedral is most famous for – altho the real power spot is underneath the cathedral, in a dark room beneath the high altar.
Kind of like the self – we all hold this dark inner space, and out of that…[Read more]

Michael Winn replied to the topic For Michael or anyone else on Feng Shui in the forum General 18 years, 10 months ago
It sounds like you are taling about Black Hat feng shui, which many chinese feng shui practitioners do not consider to even be feng shui. Black Hat feng shui was invented by LinYun about 25 years ago, and doesn’t use the traditional lo pan compass, but ascribes fised directions and qualities to the bagua (making it simpler for novice Westerners to…[Read more]

Michael Winn replied to the topic The Sweet Power Spot BEFORE Winter Solstice (sending to elist) in the forum General 18 years, 10 months ago
I think you are asking an important question.
The Taoist tradition sees the Origin as female, the opening and closing of the (yin-yang) gates of the Tao as “the mysterious female”. See verse 6 of the Tao te ching.
I think the challenge is that the primordial, which appears dark to us living in the realms of yin-yang, cannot easily be felt…[Read more]

Michael Winn replied to the topic Kryon's message on unity in the forum General 18 years, 10 months ago
I scanned down thru Kryon to see if there was much of practical value, as opposed to inspirational value, which is mostly what channels have to offer. Kryon is very readable and pretty grounded – probably a result of the same entity being channelled for 15 years. It takes the never-incarnated a while to acclimate to this realm.
Kyron offers a…[Read more]

Michael Winn replied to the topic Someone needs to separate chi kung from chi kung in the forum General 18 years, 10 months ago
The question is legit. But the problem is fundamental: what is chi? There is no clear “objective” scientific asnwer, because machines, the current tools of mechanistic western science, are unable to mesure the totality of human consciousness, its chi flow.
The results on health of chi kung have been “objectively” studied, see the 3500 studies…[Read more]

I istudied with his teacher. Kwan Sai Hung. As long as you realize the novels are fiction, not his life story,
you can enjoy them as a good kung-fu read spiced up with Taoist ideas. But Kwan was born in NYC, raised in USA, and is half german.Always important to distinguish the sizzle from the steak.

Michael Winn replied to the topic Ancestral issues in the forum General 18 years, 10 months ago
You have correctly discerned that self-awareness is the first step (five shen), and rooting into the bones the second step. That puts you in touch with their level of force. The third step is to learn Fusion and Kan & Li, to refine your response to your ancestral issues at the sexual and bloodline levels. Eventually to discover all of nature is…[Read more]

Michael Winn replied to the topic Power of Sound in the forum General 18 years, 11 months ago
Most of the brain-wave devices I’ve examined rely on creating dissonance between two tones, that your left and right brain spontaneously try to resolve by finding a midpoint between them. This may help a shift to listening from the corpus callosum, the link point between the left and right brain.
The problem that I see eventually coming up is…[Read more]

N,
I gave a thumbnail sketch that left out details relevant to your essay – which is excellent, but possibly mis-directed against Michel Morgan’s new line. He is, however, very Christian and gnostically oriented on some levels, and so some of your criticism may apply. But the twist in Morgan’s latest thesis is that the local God / Prime…[Read more]

He just published a book a few weeks ago called The Adventures of God, which details the struggle (and weaknesses) of God in dealing with older and more powerful creators than Itself that are organized around “dominion” or power/control. The book, in my opinion, is rather uneven in its mix of mythic personification of these Gods and esoteric…[Read more]

Thanks for the extra details on Venus and agree that its very strange to have western astrology include all the planets EXCEPT the earth, the one we live on. Chinese astorlogy, like Taoist energy cultivation, is earth centered, i..e Earth is the central element, not ether.
I don’t think this makes it “more correct”, just safer and more…[Read more]
