There is a video at Tao Bums of Wudang Supreme 7 Star Qigong at this link:

    http://www.thetaobums.com/Wudang-Supreme-7-Star-Qigong-t7473.html

Or you can go to youtube and search for it.

Can anyone here explain more about it, ie what is it and what it is used for? Is it the same that is taught by Mr. Winn in the Greater Kan and Li practices or something different?

    Thanks.

This is not the same form. The form taught in greater Kan & Li was presented to us by Jian Nan, it is his families practice mainly running down the female line. I enjoy the tones Michael injected into the form but hopefully he can massage the original tones out of Jian Nan in the future. I do both primordial and big dipper qigong daily since the china trip. If you go on the china trip I believe you learn both forms!

    Dog,

Thanks for the reply. I learned primodial qi gong from the dvd and practice it regularly. If I understand it correctly, primodial qi gong brings energy from the directions to the core, speeds up your karma, and harmonizes with the directional, earth, and heaven energy. What does the Big Dipper qi gong do?

    Regards and good qi,

Fair question. It is quite different from primordial.

It moves in Squares, and turns clockwise instead of Primordial’s counter-clock movement. It integrates the 28 lunar mansions, the 24 solar periods, and the Pole Star, captures their essence into your mingmen by causing the earth chi to spiral upwards in the pattern of the Big Dipper. This concentrates your manifesting power and gives your intention incredible force.

I may eventually make a video of it, but I am still penetrating deeper into the form. It takes a while. In the meantime, consider coming to China. 🙂

I am no lu dong bin and still exploring this form. I find it uses earth energy to attract in and embrace the heavenly energy they couple and create centering and balance also expansion, a beautiful mix. This balances out male female heaven earth, and cleans out energy channels. Mind and soul seemed balanced in the heart then grounded and embodied in the lower dan tien. Of course this is not some thing ultimate but a ever deepening experience. I personally get a very yang response allot of opening up of contracted areas through out my energy body. But my additude becomes much softer.

Thank you both for your replies. Compared to the using the mind only to pull in and refine the energies what is it about the physical movement that attracts the energies better?

To make a video of it would be nice. If it wasn’t for the Primordial Qi Gong video I wouldn’t be able to practice it myself, thank you.

Movement is a partner that empowers your intention yi or mind. The more elements you get on board with your direction the more empowered your yi becomes. In this case we are using what you might consider like a work out machine, the intention is held in the design of the machine, we work with the machine and it gives us results, there is years of wisdom in the design of the machine, we latter get to figure out (often by the results we get) what that machine has been asking of our body. Unless of course it is nicely listed on the side of the machine.:)

    Good question:
Ritual movement concentrates the power of the mind. The body IS the mind, its jing level, moving in a pattern, vs. thoughts being the movement of the shen shaping qi. Ceremonies can use both, and the repetition by the body sends a powerful signal to the cosmos, creating a new alignment.

I really felt the importance of calling it heart mind instead of body mind in your recent fundamentals class. Heart centered path really hit home this last class. Thanks

“The body IS the mind, its jing level, moving in a pattern, vs. thoughts being the movement of the shen shaping qi.”

I think you wrote a very poignent meaning. Though on first read I glossed over it. Normal western thought is you have your body and a mind with both being looked at and treated seperately.

Your body and mind are both the same energetic manifestation of jing. Your thoughts originate with the shen and give a certain form to your qi which works with these jing components.

Just a question about the order of combining these two practices:

If seven star qigong amplifies our manifesting power, then when we do primordial after it we are taking that intention deeply into the primordial. So if we practice primordial qigong first before seven star, are we manifesting the primordial here more deeply?

I am also really enjoying the form and am using one cloud’s formulas with it while toning just as in primordial…it has really taken the experience to another level!

You are manifesting your INTEGRATION of the primordial and the human.
